DESCRIPTION:Join us for our next volunteer event at Village One School. We’ll provide supplies and direction — no experience necessary. Work will include anything from cleaning\, painting\, scraping\, to yard work\, to organizing materials and more. Email or get in touch via social media to sign up and/or alert us to specialized skills you might share. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty in\, such as jeans and closed-toe shoes. Feel free to bring work gloves\, as well. If you’re not able to stay the whole morning\, please stop by anyway to say “hi” and see what we’re up to! Volunteer workdays are generally the third Saturday\, from March to October.

DESCRIPTION:As part of the 45th Annual WC Handy Music Festival\, the Florence-Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau along with co-sponsors such as the MSNHA present the annual Shoals Songwriter Showcase. Performers include some of the area’s most acclaimed hit songwriters — including Lenny LeBlanc\, Gary Baker\, James LeBlanc\, Mike Curtis\, Billy Lawson\, Mark Narmore\, Donny Lowery & many more. Arrive early as this will be standing-room crowds. The lobby area will be set up so a limited number of guests can watch the show on a large LED screen. You will not be able to save seats — be sure your entire party arrives at the same time. Free admission.

Michael is an award-winning songwriter\, musician & storyteller whose roots reach back into mists of the southern mountains.
