At one time possibly a stagecoach stop, Pope’s Tavern is one of the oldest structures in Florence. Located on the military road that connected Nashville to New Orleans, this building served as a hospital for both sides during the Civil War. The first floor replicates the life of the building in the 18th and 19th centuries while other exhibits look at Civil War and local history.
