For Kids -- MSNHA's Junior Ranger program

Explore MSNHA’s stories & earn exclusively designed badges!

Our Junior Ranger program helps kids of all ages learn more about northwest Alabama’s history & culture — and earn rewards. How do you get started? Browse through the lists of activities below, arranged by our three themes: the Tennessee River, Music & American Indian Heritage. Choose at least two activities from a theme, complete them & submit the finished activities to us. Then we’ll send you your badge. You can earn one, two or all three.  We chose these activities to offer several options: most can be done online, a few are best experienced on-site, some can be completed on their own & some need research through the appropriate educators’ packet on our “For Teachers” page. (Packets are designed for fourth-grade state history curriculums.)

Email completed activities to msnha@una.edu or mail them to UNA Box 5231, Florence, AL 35632. Include with your postal address to receive your badges in the mail. Or bring completed pages to our office, 541 W. College St., Florence, to get your badges in person. The badges are stiffened fabric appropriate for sewing on a sweatshirt, canvas bag, etc. They’re pictured here approximately true to size.

Good luck and have fun! Questions? Email us at msnha@una.edu.
