Mission Statement

Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area conserves, interprets, promotes and develops access to the historic, cultural, natural and recreational resources of the six northwest Alabaman counties comprising its designated area. Through programs fostering public-private partnerships, MSNHA stimulates community revitalization, improves quality of life, promotes tourism, catalyzes economic development and cultivates the stewardship of our landscape.

Values Statement

MSNHA values equitable access to the resources that define northwest Alabama. We encourage meaningful connections among people, communities, and landscapes within the Tennessee River basin and are committed to interpreting reconciliatory history.

MSNHA’s three themes are music, Native American heritage and the Tennessee River.
