Open to the public, these events aren’t directly funded by the MSNHA but support our mission to promote cultural tourism in our six counties through education, preservation and conservation. Community events often are sponsored by MSNHA partners and other groups & people we work with.
One of MSNHA’s missions is to expand outdoor-recreation opportunities. We want everyone to discover & enjoy northwest Alabama’s natural beauty and learn to be good stewards of our waterways & land. MSNHA Recreation Events are those we directly facilitate.
The National Park Service launched Operation Pollination to focus attention on the global loss of habitat for bees and other pollinators. Local events include educational workshops and native-habitat restoration workdays. Visit Operation Pollination – Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area (una.edu) to learn more.
The Tennessee RiverLine celebrates the Tennessee River, connects people & communities and catalyzes economic development & healthy lifestyles in river communities through outdoor experiences. Local events include free community paddles with our RiverLine fleet & river cleanups. Visit Tennessee RiverLine – Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area (una.edu) to learn more.
Through grants as well as partnerships & sponsorships, MSNHA directly funds many projects & events within our six counties of Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone & Morgan. Sponsored events are linked to our three main themes: the Tennessee River, music & Native American heritage.
