Historic Downtown Courtland

Photo by Cathy Wood, MSNHA media coordinator

Downtown Courtland was named to the National Register of Historic Places for its significant 1820-1930 architecture. Reportedly built on a Native American village site, Courtland thrived as a trade center for the 19th-century cotton economy and later housed office space for TVA and nearby paper manufacturing.
