Begun in 1918 and finished in 1924, the imposing Wilson Lock and Dam is a neoclassical-style engineering marvel that the newly created TVA acquired in 1933. The navigational lock is open for visitors from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays-Sundays and federal holidays. Nearby hiking trails and lookouts offer astounding views.
