Belle Mont Mansion

An Alabama Historical Commission site, Belle Mont was built 1828-1832 by enslaved laborers and is one of the state’s first large cotton plantation houses. The designer is unknown but seems to have been influenced by Thomas Jefferson’s ideas and style.
