Nineteen churches, such as the 19th-century First United Methodist Church, in Decatur (photo above), are featured in the Amen Trail in Morgan County. Most of them are at least 100 years old with active faith communities. Two of the churches on the trail also are part of North Alabama’s Hallelujah Trail, which was included in The National Geographic’s Driving Tours of Appalachia. Brochures are available at the Decatur-Morgan County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
