Black Warrior’s Path began near Florence and continued southeast through Lawrence County. Gen. Andrew Jackson, Col. John Coffee and frontiersman Davy Crockett used the road during the Creek Indian War, and it was later a major thoroughfare during the Creek Indian Removal.
