Town of Waterloo

Waterloo was the final stopping point in Alabama for Cherokee Indians forced to travel the Trail of Tears water route. A steamboat departed from Waterloo carrying the Native Americans far from their homelands to continue their journey to Oklahoma. Today, Waterloo is a popular destination for fishermen and hunters.
